A naturally occurring prostaglandin that has oxytocic, luteolytic, and abortifacient activities. Due to its vasocontractile properties, the compound has a variety of other biological actions.Dinoprost (INN, prostaglandin F2α or PGF2α in prostanoid nomenclature) is a naturally-occurring prostaglandin used in medicine to induce labor and as an abortifacient.
