A Compound liberary is a collection of compounds esp. chemicals, which can be used as possible potential drug molecules.

Sources of molecules in Liberaries :- 1. Molelcules used in past as for drug discovery. 2. New molecules chemically sythesized as "in house" molecules by specialist chemical companies.

In early days , it was a problem how to generate molecules that can be acted as possible drug molecules but these days Combitorial chemistry is widely used to make large number of molecules in small interval of time. By using such approaches we can access large number of chemical itenties as new potent molecules in very small time duration. This step is very important in reducuing the time interval in the drug discovery process.
